The Rangers will be fighting for their playoff lives on Saturday night.
Sound familiar?
It should, as Saturday's crucial game six will be sixth time already this postseason that the Blueshirts have been on the brink of elimination, as three straight losses have put them in a familiar 3-2 hole heading into Tampa.
"We've been in this spot before," Barclay Goodrow said. "Our group as a whole have obviously handled it very well and have gained a lot of experience. I feel like when our backs are against the wall, it has brought the best out of us.
"I don't see why it would be any different [Saturday]. We're excited for the challenge, and we're confident we can bring it back to New York."
Of course, Saturday's challenge will be a different one on the road against the two-time defending champs, though New York has already erased a 3-1 deficit to the battle-tested Penguins and a 3-2 series deficit to the high-powered Hurricanes.
So, a comeback can be done, but with the Lightning holding all the momentum and hungry to clinch a third straight Stanley Cup berth on home ice, the Rangers will once again have to battle for survival and face improbable odds.
Fortunately, that's where they've thrived this postseason.
"We've experienced it during these playoffs and during the regular season as well," Mika Zibanejad said. "The more you do it, the more confidence you get in it. Obviously you don't want to put yourself in that situation all the time, but I think we've been responding well. We know what we can do, and just gotta go out there and do it again."
