Report: Giants sign Mike Glennon as backup quarterback

The Giants have secured their backup quarterback for next season, signing Mike Glennon to slot in behind Daniel Jones, per Brendan Bishop and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Glennon, 31, was drafted by the Buccaneers in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft after playing at North Carolina State. He spent three seasons with the Bucs and was thrown into the fire immediately, making 13 starts in 2013 and throwing for 2,608 yards with 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He made just five starts the following year, and none in 2016 before he left for Chicago, where he made four starts before he was cut in 2018.

Glennon then signed with the Cardinals, but was cut that same year. He signed on with the Raiders but made no starts, then signed on with the Jaguars and made five starts last season, throwing for 1,072 yards with seven touchdowns and five picks, good for a quarterback rating of 80.1.

The Jaguars went 0-5 in those games en route to the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft.
