Report: Islanders targeting Zach Parise and Ryan Suter

After losing Jordan Eberle to the Seattle Kraken in Wednesday's expansion draft, the Islanders are reportedly looking to add both Zach Parise and Ryan Suter, who were bought out by the Wild earlier this month.

According to the New York Post, Islanders team president Lou Lamoriello is looking to add both veterans to the roster as the team looks to get over the hump and make it to the Stanley Cup. Both Parise and Suter signed 13-year deals with Minnesota but were bought out of the final four years of those deals as the franchise looks to begin a new era. In nine years with the Wild, Parise and Suter reached the playoffs eight times.

Parise, who has a familiarity with Lamoriello from their time with the Devils, including making the Stanley Cup Final in 2012, logged 400 points with the Wild in 558 games, while Suter tallied 369 points in 656 games.

Parise, 36, logged seven goals and 18 points in 45 games last season, his 16th in the NHL, while Suter, also 36, had three goals and 19 points in 56 contests.
