Any city’s fans can be fickle, even New York – see also ‘The Bronx Cheer’ – when it comes to a love-hate relationship with certain athletes, teams, or executives.

But what Bulls fans did this weekend by booing vociferously when Jerry Krause, the architect of the 1990s dynasty, was inducted posthumously into the team’s Ring of Honor? For Sal Licata, that’s just too much.

“Every fan has their own right to voice whatever they feel like they want to voice, through boos or cheers or whatever – but I have a hard time thinking anybody in this town, which is the most critical and passionate sports fan base that there is, would boo anybody who's dead,” Sal said.

BT agrees that would never happen, but it did in Chicago, bringing his widow to tears – and to Sal, it’s unbelievable a fan base can boo ANYONE responsible for one of the best eras in sports history.

“I don't care what the reason was for, he had the most success you could possibly have,” Sal said. “Like, if you win ONE in this town, I don't care what you do off the field, odds are you're gonna be cheered forever. He won as much as he did, and he’s passed away and you're booing his widow? You idiots!”

Not to mention that booing a dead man is worse than anything, including Philly fans booing Santa Claus.

“How stupid can you be? Whether he's a villain or no, the fact is he won, he built those teams,” Sal said. “Number two, he's dead! How do you boo a dead guy? You don't! That's worse than booing Santa Claus.”
