As the Knicks roll into Saturday’s matchup with the Lakers with a nine-game winning streak, Sal is riding the wave of good vibes while dancing on the grave of the Nets superteam era.
“Hey Kevin Durant, kiss our ass!” Sal said. “Kiss our ass, you bum! You chose the wrong team!
“We don’t need you! Said it then, say it now.”
Durant came and went from New York with just one playoff series win in Brooklyn, which Jalen Brunson and company matched just last season. As a Knicks fan, it feels awfully good to watch that implode just as New York began its rise.
“How good does that feel?” Sal said. “Think about where we were two years ago, Nets fans thinking they had it with KD, Kyrie, and trading for James Harden, and the Knicks didn’t have anybody. Who’s laughing now? It predictably imploded…to the most embarrassing levels, and here we are with the Knicks, doing it the right way. The hard way.”
