Jets fans were fawning over Zach Wilson well before he was selected No. 2 overall Thursday night in the 2021 NFL Draft, and have continued to do so as Wilson has made the media rounds since.
One other thing that’s being fawned over by many: the Instagram account of Wilson’s mother, Lisa, who has 13,000 followers on her “lifeaccording2lisa” account and has been noted for her good looks.
Zach joined Carton & Roberts on Friday as he made his media rounds, and Craig asked the new Jets QB what he thought about the situation.
“Your mom has become the lead story, and I say that respectfully because people are like, ‘the star of the first round of the draft is Mrs. Wilson because she’s a very attractive woman,;” Craig told Zach. “I’m just wondering how awkward that is for you that you just got picked second overall and the focus is your mom. I’m sure you’ve dealt with this your whole life, but now it’s playing out on Broadway. How awkward is that for you?”
Wilson played it off, saying “it’s not my favorite for sure,” instead focusing on how his mom has supported him as he has gone on to be an NFL QB.
“I like to keep her out of the spotlight. She’s an awesome lady and I love having her support,” Wilson calmly said.
Carton & Roberts respected that and moved on, but perhaps, the first controversy for Wilson to deal with as he moves from Utah to the Big Apple to play for Gang Green. You can listen to the whole exchange below:
