Zach Wilson’s time with the Jets is likely over, and Keith wants to see the former No. 2 pick get a fresh start elsewhere and potentially resurrect an NFL career.
“I think he is better suited to play quarterback in the NFL anywhere but the Jets,” Keith said. “The Jets absolutely ruined this kid.”
Keith isn’t expecting Wilson to turn himself into a starter just from a change of scenery, but by leaving the dysfunction of the team that drafted him, maybe Wilson can become a serviceable backup for years to come.
“I’m rooting for that kid,” Keith said. “I think he’ll be better suited as a backup somewhere. Maybe he can back up Patrick Mahomes and learn Andy Reid’s offense…I think there’s gonna be another team. Why not the Raiders?”
