After two years away due to COVID-19, the annual 4/20 celebration at San Francisco's Hippie Hill that attracts thousands appears ready to return on Wednesday April 20, 2022 for the first time since 2019.

Back in the early days of the pandemic, San Francisco Mayor London Breed publicly urged people to not attempt to congregate at Hippie Hill, which was fenced off and guarded. It's unclear what safety measures will be in place this year, but in 2017 the celebration became a city-sanctioned event with fences, security & an age restriction.
