DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - Reports have emerged that the Dallas Cowboys latest offer to Running Back Ezekiel Elliott would make him one fo the NFL's two highest-paid running backs.

ESPN's Ed Werder had the report:

Sources: The most recent offer in negotiations between holdout Ezekiel Elliott and the Cowboys came from the team. Elliott has been offered a contract making him one of the NFL’s 2 highest-paid RB. That would suggest team offering more than LeVeon Bell and less than Todd Gurley.

The report suggests that Elliott would fall somewhere bettween Todd Gurley's four-year $60 million deal with $45 million guarenteed  and Levon Bell's four-year $52 millon deal with $27 millon guarenteed.

Earlier this week the Cowboys extended linebacker Jaylon Smith, making him a top-5 paid player at his position, and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Smith's deal would leave, "less pie" to extend Elliot, Dak Prescott, and Amari Cooper. "There is less pie left. Make no bones about it," Jones said, before repeating "there is less pie."

However, Jones also noted that there would still be enough money left to sign all three players. "The reason there is pie left is because we have kept some left. That's why we're going to be where we are because we're going to have some pie left for others," Jones said before touching on the importance of being a Cowboy when it comes to future career earnings outside of football.

Elliott continues to holdout from the Cowboys in search of a new contract despite being under contract through next season.
