Todd Archer on report Cowboys are 'very close' to deal with Odighizuwa: 'I know they want to sign him'

It's only the first day of Shan and RJ's coverage of the Dallas Cowboys at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis and we're already getting lots of action to discuss.

According to Mike Fisher of Athlon Sports, the Cowboys and free agent defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa are 'very close' to getting a deal done to keep him in Dallas. Per Fish, the new contract is 'expected to come in at more than $21 million per year.'

Dallas Cowboys insider Todd Archer sat down with 105.3 the Fan in Indy on Thursday morning and the guys asked Archer for his reaction to the report.

"I don't know if that number is accurate from what I've been told where it would be, but I know they want to sign him. I know they've had productive talks before they even got here," Archer said on Shan and RJ. "You look at Matt Eberflus' defense. They need an under-tackle for that thing to succeed. I think he's a guy you had to keep and you probably had to pay more than you wanted to pay."

Does signing Odighizuway's potential signing change the Cowboys' plans for pick No. 12? What does Archer think about the coaching staff Brian Schottenheimer put together? What does he make of Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk telling Shan & RJ that he's heard the Cowboys had a discussion with the Tennessee Titans about trading up for the No. 1 overall pick?
