The original movie was tough to watch. It showed the four musicians as their bond was dissolving--with a lot of fighting and arguing. In news release, Disney says this movie promises to "showcase the warmth, camaraderie and humor of the making of the legendary band’s studio album, "Let It Be," and their final live concert as a group, the iconic rooftop performance on London’s Savile Row."
The film was compiled from over 55 hours of unseen footage, filmed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg in 1969, and 140 hours of mostly unheard audio recordings from the "Let It Be" album sessions, and promises to be "brilliantly restored." I can't wait to see how great George's lime green pants look post-restoration and on the big screen!
Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are excited about the project, as are Olivia Harrison and Yoko Ono. Paul says he enjoyed looking all all the old footage, which he says included hours and hours of the band laughing and playing music. He says compared to the original movie, Get Back will be "a lot more peace and loving, like we really were."
