Every Friday night at 10, Amber Star takes us back to a different year in music history. This time we're jumping back 20 years to the year 2002. George W. Bush was president, and we were still getting used to this whole new millennium thing.
In the news, President Bush created the Department of Homeland Security, and signed the No Child Left Behind Act. Kmart became the biggest retailer at that point to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Blockbusters at the movies included Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones, Ice Age, and Spiderman. 2002 was the first year for American Idol (when Kelly Clarkson won), and it was also year one for The Osbournes. Admit it, you can still hear Ozzy yelling "Sharooooon" in your head!
What tunes were we listening to in 2002? Listen Friday night to find out.
