This Friday night, host Amber Star takes us back to the year 2004.
That's the year George W. Bush defeated John Kerry to be re-elected president, despite the fact that Bruce Springsteen campaigned for Kerry on West Washington Avenue in Madison. And Bruce accepted an offer posted by students on a balcony to come up and join them for a beer! His wife Patti and Tom Brokaw went with him.
That was the year we said goodbye to Joey, Chandler, Phoebe, Monica, Ross and Rachel as Friends aired its last episode. Lost was a new TV show, and Napoleon Dynamite and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy were making us laugh at the movie theater.
It was also the year the first US state legalized gay marriage (Massachusetts).
Music we were listening to included Green Day, Sheryl Crow, Los Lonely Boys and Jet. What else? Listen to find out!
