The Dallas Cowboys injury report is filling up ahead of Sunday’s game against the Bears.
Micah Parsons and Sam Williams were added to the report Thursday after being full participants in practice a day earlier. Parsons was limited in Thursday's session with a shoulder injury, while Williams, who is coming off the best game of his young career, was a non-participant with a knee ailment.
In his weekly appearance on “Shan and RJ,” Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy shared the latest on the two.
“I don’t have high concern for Micah. I just want to see Sam practice on Saturday,” McCarthy said. “So, that’ll be the final determination for Sam.”
Also on the injury report is running back Ezekiel Elliott, who is dealing with a knee injury that could keep him out against Chicago.
Regardless of his status for Sunday, Elliott is making progress.
“He started bouncing around yesterday and everybody was like slow down, but he’s really making a lot of progress," McCarthy said. "I think it just speaks to him as an individual … and I think you would expect that from Zeke just with the way he goes about it. He’s a tremendous teammate, he doesn’t miss anything – I’m talking all the way back to the offseason – so he’s definitely a warrior.”
Elliott played in Sunday’s win over the Lions, rushing for 57 yards with a pair of touchdowns across 15 carries. The Ft. Worth Star-Telegram reported he has a Grade 2 MCL sprain and thigh bruise, and is likely to be out Sunday. Tony Pollard should see an uptick in carries if Elliott is out.
