Tiger King’s Carole Baskin is feeling some type of way about Cardi B’s new “WAP” music video.
After watching the visual, which also features Megan Thee Stallion —The Big Cat Rescue CEO was not having any of it, and not afraid to be vocal about her opinion on the glamorization and use of big cats as props. "My guess is that most people won't even see the Photoshopped cats in the scenes because the rest of it is so lurid," Baskin expressed to Billboard. Dang Carole! Claws are out girl.
Baskin, who gained her recent notoriety after the airing of Netflix docuseries Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness also added; "I was happy to see that it does appear to all be Photoshopped. It didn't look like the cats were really in the rooms with the singers. In fact, probably most of the rooms were Photoshopped in via green screen. That being said, you have to pose a wildcat in front of a green screen to get that image and that doesn't happen in the wild.”
And apparently Baskin isn’t the only one who had issues with the sizzling music video. As we told you last week, the list of female cameos in the “WAP” video, starting with Kylie Jenner, literally had us gasping for air. With that said, the people have spoken, and not everyone was quite as excited as we were for the appearance of one Kylie Kristen Jenner. Going as far as starting a a petition asking for her removal from the video, which has reached over 64,000 signatures.
Cardi defended her casting choices on Twitter, thanking all the women involved in the video.
And as for the Carole Baskin drama, Cardi has yet to respond, but has previously pledged her support for the self proclaimed Tiger King, Joe Exotic, who is currently serving a 22-year federal prison sentence for the attempted murder of Baskin. That’s a whole other story…
