This post contains spoilers for the finale of "The Bachelorette."
It’s true in 2020, you can find love.
Tayshia Adams did indeed do that and is now engaged to Zac Clark.
It was a happy ending for both Adams and Clark on the authentic 16th season of “The Bachelorette.” Throughout the season, the 30-year-old was very vocal about her previous divorce, which left her often overthinking her decisions. But even with tensions mounting as the proposal came closer and Adams becoming anxious, she got her happy ending.
Here’s how Tayshia and Clark ended up together on the finale of “The Bachelorette.”
The Beginning of the Episode
As always, “The Bachelorette” left fans with a cliff hanger going into the finale. The second-to-last rose ceremony seemed easy as Adams had two roses for Clark and one for Ivan. However, last week’s episode showed us that anything could change as Ben, whom she sent home the week before, showed up to tell her that he loved her. When Ben dropped the bomb, Tayshia shared that it was a little too late but allowed him to stay for the rose ceremony.
The Rose Ceremony
The final three: Zac, Ben, and Ivan
At the start of the ceremony, Tayshia pulled Ivan away to speak with him.
“There are some things that kind of posed concern,” she told him.
They discussed religion during their overnight date, and Tayshia realized that the relationship would not work and sent Ivan home. Zac and Ben received two roses.
Ben Meets the Family
Her dad, Desmond, her mom, Rosario, and brothers Brice and Desmond Jr. visited Tayshia to help make her essential decision. Tayshia’s father was shocked that Ben was sent home and then came back.
“I don’t want you to work so hard to have somebody on the same page as you,” Desmond told his daughter in a chat about Ben’s fears of telling Tayshia how he feels.
Ben told her mother and father about how much he loves Tayshia and why he wants to be in her life.
“He really acknowledged where he messed up and how he could have done better,” Desmond said. “I started to fall in love with Ben all over again,” Tayshia said.
Zac Meets the Family
Zac told Rosario that he’s in love with her daughter and that Tayshia loves him back. The 36-year-old expressed how he wants to start a family with their daughter.
Like Tayshia, Zac has been married in the past.
“I don’t want this to be a test, I don’t want you to wing it and see if you can make it work,” Desmond told Zac.
“Supporting each other through these tough times is what I look forward to,” Zac said.
“I like Zac, he’s a good man. Just to see another man be in love with my daughter, the way he expressed himself, made me be at ease,” Desmond said after meeting Zac.
“Zac seems very honest and caring, the chemistry was actually something that I noticed,” Rosario said.
Zac's Last Date
Both Zac and Tayshia headed to dance class to learn a proper first dance for a wedding. During the last portion of their date, Tayshia expressed how things can change in a relationship and questioned whether they would grow apart. Zac assured her that no matter what happens, he isn’t going anywhere.
Tayshia told the cameras that she knows what she wants, and it’s not Ben. Before going on their final date, she said to him that her heart is with somebody else.
The Proposal
Zac chose an emerald-cut Neil Lane ring for the proposal.
As Zac approached the altar, Tayshia giggled.
“The first conversation we ever had by our fountain, we talked about how everything happens for a reason. I came here because I was supposed to meet you, I came here because I was supposed to fall in love with you,” Zac told her. “Nothing has ever felt so right in my entire life. I love you, Tayshia. We spoke of the importance of loyalty, and I will always be loyal to you.”
Tayshia responded: “I know that I told you that I love you, but it’s more than that. It’s this wild, wild love that I’ve tried to come up with so many reasons to not believe, and you have truly made me believe that there doesn’t have to be flaws, and that I deserve love with a man who won’t run away. I love you, Zac Clark.”
Of course, Tayshia said yes to the proposal!
Per Instagram, the couple is happy, and they are ready for 2021.
