Matt McAllister and Gabe of The Morning Wolfpack on Seattle's 100.7 The Wolf got a chance to catch up with singer Russell Dickerson while backstage at Throwdown this past weekend.
LISTEN NOW: Russell Dickerson at 'Throwdown'
As this year's Throwdown was headlined by one Mr. Tim McGraw, Gabe wondered if Russell was forced to work out with Tim before arriving for his set. "No, I do work out though, on my own accord," Russell clarifies. This, of course, is in the context of McGraw apparently calling out RD for not being able to hang in with him. "Did you hear what he said?" Matt asks. "He kind of threw you under the bus!"
"I did, ha ha," Russell snickers. "That guy..."
Gabe gave Russell a much-needed boost after that shot by saying his biceps would argue otherwise. "Sun's out, guns out... that's what it was," he says. "And you know, he talks... he talks. But he knows I was there. I did have to miss some stuff because I would have to hang out, do some radio stuff, do some interviews, go off-site... But it's Tim McGraw, dude. He doesn't... he's just hangin'."
How about a push-up contest between them? "Done! I'll do a push-up with Tim McGraw on my back," says RD. "Bet."
Now a double-dad with two boys, Matt says Russell needs to start working on his double-dad bod -- which basically means never getting a chance to be alone to exercise ever again. "I need a little me-time," he says joking, adding that his wife, Kailey, would now just say, 'Yeah right!'"
