We got to enjoy a bunch of new music premiers on Locals Only this week. Everett artist Sarah Feinberg came by to talk about her new project Sylvi. Locals Only fans probably know Sarah for her work in local bands Tellers and I Will Keep Your Ghost. On Sylvi she wanted to get back to her roots a bit and write songs that felt a little more like her.
This Friday Sylvi will release the debut Homebody EP and we were lucky enough to play all the unreleased songs. If you missed it I am happy to report that they were all very good. We also enjoyed some tunes from Anacortes legend Karl Blau who produced Homebody and talked about the process of working with him in the studio and how his mom ended up playing French Horn on the new EP.
You can see Sylvi at their release show this Saturday November 2nd at the Ballard Homestead. The night will also include solo sets from John Van Deusen and Tomo Nakayama. Pretty much a dream Locals Only lineup.
