We had a show full of great guests and fantastic music this week on Locals Only.
In the first hour we were all things Freakout Fest with Skyler from Freakout in studio and local band Antonioni sharing some of their favorite local artists from the Freakout Fest lineup. In addition to schooling us on local bands like Racoma, Biblioteka, and Terror/Cactus, Antonioni also brought in a new song to premier on the show. The track is called Mary Bell and it is just one of many reasons to dig Antonioni. Freakout Fest is happening all weekend at multiple venues in Ballard with some of favorite local bands like Smokey Brights, The Grizzled Mighty, Bevery Crusher, Tres Leches and many more.
In the second hour of the show Mary Lambert dropped by to share some new music with us. Her new album Grief Creature is out today but on Sunday night we got to premier the new track "Shame". Mary was in town for a big show at The Neptune Theatre. We talked about the process of producing the album herself (which was a first for her), what it was like to be teaming up with local artists like Hollis and Macklemore and we even did a deep dive on her partner Paige getting ready to be on Jeopardy. Each part of the conversation was equally amazing.
