It has become a common occurrence where I get on Youtube and start watching old or new videos from my favorite local bands. Then, like everything else on the internet, the algorithm takes over and I end up down a rabbit hole of music videos and live performances of bands I know and those that I know nothing about. This is exactly how I stumbled upon the below video of Seattle band Babes In Canyon.
That video sent me running to listen to more music from Babes In Canyon as I fought feelings of jealousy over missing their performance at The Sunset that night.
As a result you are going to be hearing the studio version of "Call Me Over" on The End all month long because Babes In Canyon are our Locals Only Artist of the Month of March.
Babes In Canyon will be stopping by The End studio to hang with me on Locals Only on March 24th at 7pm. If you listen you might even catch a live performance in the studio that night. Until then, read more about Babes In Canyon below:
Eloquently blending big-pine folk, indie-pop, and sweet vocal harmonies, Babes In Canyon crafts music that is eminently engaging and very much of the moment. Born of a spontaneous writing session during a blackout, the band wandered naturally into the land of heavy beats, lyrics with an element of storytelling, and folk instrumentation with a twist. Their sophomore EP Year To Live is a snapshot of the discovery, evolution, and expression that has always been the core purpose of Babes In Canyon. Nuanced, expertly arranged, yet profoundly catchy, Babes In Canyon stands ready to soundtrack your adventures (spontaneous or otherwise).
"Warm & autumnal shades of folk... immensely catchy songwriting."
