The Seattle City Council voted to raise the cost of parking on the streets surrounding Climate Pledge Arena to as much as $12/hour during major events. Next time you're thinking about heading into the seventh circle of traffic hell to see a show or attend a Kraken game, just know that no one is pulling for you to make it affordable.
But hey, at least that new Northgate light rail station opens at the same time so you can get within a 25 minute walk of the stadium. To be fair, the monorail will take people from the downtown to Seattle Center or you can wait a little extra time for the Seattle Center light rail stop to open... in 2036.
Long before it changed names, we did just find figuring out how to get to Deck the Hall Ball or a Sonics game at Key Arena, but this is a different city now. Tons more buildings with super limited parking availability means people already battle for the street spaces, this will only complicate it.
Or, you pay the city to park in one of their garages on site. Ah. Nevermind, I get it now.
