Everyone’s favorite bumbling office manager Michael Scott may be coming back to Dunder Mifflin in the near future.
NBC recently gave its stamp of approval for a reboot of the wildly popular sitcom “The Office,” with NBCU content chief Susan Rovner telling Deadline that “whenever Greg Daniels wants to do one, we’re standing by."

Rovner, who is the Chairman, Entertainment Content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, spoke at the Edinburgh International TV Festival. In a panel session, she initially said “no comment” when asked about plans for a reboot. She then added her remarks about Daniels, who developed the NBC adaptation of the British orginal series.
While there are still no official plans to reboot the series into production, it does give fans hope for a new iteration in the future.
In 2019, NBC launched its streamer Peacock, which included a $500M deal to receive full rights to stream all seasons of “The Office,” according to the outlet. The show had previously been streamed on Netflix for years.

In January, Daniels told E! News a reboot is "probably more likely now that the show is on Peacock, but no plans right now certainly."
"People are more open to it now it seems," he added. "The issue is — what is left to be said about the characters?"
Daniels also told Collider at the time, "It's not impossible. It's not impossible for sure," he said. "I would want to be involved, and I've got two other shows I'm working on right now."
“The Office” ran between 2005 and 2013, and starred Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Mindy Kaling, Ed Helms, Craig Robinson, and Ellie Kemper, among others.
The show was an adaptation of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s original BBC British comedy series.
