Bucks Co. DA Matt Weintraub on SEPTA Incident and Justice Reform

Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub returns to the Dom Giordano Program to discuss multiple issues concerning policing and criminal justice in and around the Bucks County area. First, Giordano asks for Weintraub’s opinions on the horrific incident that played out in Delaware County’s Upper Darby, in which bystanders watched as a man raped a woman on a SEPTA train. Weintraub and Giordano discuss the perpetrator of the crime, who was to be deported, but due to particular policy decisions, was allowed to remain here in the city and country. Then, Weintraub and Giordano contemplate how to strengthen public safety, telling what he does and would do to further protect the citizens of his jurisdiction. In addition, Weintraub offers his platform in the campaign for DA of Bucks County, and explains that he hopes to keep the office as apolitical as possible.
