Bruce Castor Joins Trump Impeachment Defense Team
Bruce Castor, former Montgomery County DA and newest addition to the President Trump impeachment defense team, joins the Dom Giordano Program on his way to the Senate chambers. First, Castor tells Giordano how he got involved in the representation team, and explains why he’s willing to represent the former President in a very heated political climate. Then, Castor discusses the potential argument of ‘dereliction of duty’ from the impeachment managers, and how that argument shouldn’t hold up in court. Also, Castor discusses the potential of facing off against one of the house managers in particular, his congressperson Madeleine Dean, to which he notes his utmost respect for the Montgomery County representative.
Rep. Jim Gregory On Boockvar Resignation
Representative Jim Gregory of Blair County rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss a bill he authored that led to the resignation of Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar. Gregory, along with Senator Lisa Baker and Representative Mark Rozzi, wrote a bill that would give victims of childhood sexual abuse recourse in civil court. Prior to being put before voters in an election, it is a legal necessity to advertise a proposed amendment, which Boockvar failed to do prior to proceeding. Therefore, due to this ‘clerical error’, the authors of the bill have lost two years of work for dedicated Pennsylvanians who survived assault and want to recapture their voice in the courts. Gregory notes in the interview that he will be calling for an outside investigation into this failure.
Senator Pat Toomey On Impeachment And Stimulus Payments
Senator Pat Toomey returns to the Dom Giordano Program for his monthly check-in, this time discussing the fight over the stimulus package and the impeachment of former President Donald Trump. First, Giordano asks Toomey why he’s opposed to the stimulus payments proposed, to which Toomey explains that, as a conservative, he cannot get behind universal payments to people who have no lost income. Then, Giordano and Toomey discuss the volatility of the stock market, after retail investors on Reddit teamed up to take on hedge fund managers by buying massive amounts of stock in nostalgic businesses such as GameStop and AMC. Toomey notes the importance of continuing down the path of democratizing our stock market, something that’s become long overdue. Finally, Toomey reveals to the audience why he voted in favor to impeach President Trump.
