George Bochetto On Anti-Italian-American Discrimination Lawsuit Filed Against Kenney
George Bochetto, ace attorney in the Philadelphia region, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to announce and discuss a new lawsuit filed against Mayor Kenney and the city of Philadelphia. The suit, which has been filed in the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, hones in on the discrimination against Italian-Americans perpetuated by the Kenney administration. In January of this year, Mayor Kenney, by an executive order, cancelled Columbus Day as a holiday in Philadelphia and replaced it with ‘Indigenous Peoples Day.’ In the suit, Bochetto notes that no notice was given to the other branches of the Philadelphia Government which had the right to designate holidays, nor did they receive any input from the public. Also, along with the Columbus Day issue, Bochetto notes in the lawsuit that Kenney usually uses slurs targeting Italians. Bochetto previews a press conference coming later today, in which this topic will be discussed, and tells listeners his plan of action.
PA Rep. Martina White On 'Fairness in Women’s Sports Act'
State Representative Martina White rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss a new bill that she co-sponsored with four other female Republican representatives that would ban transgender girls from competing in women’s school sports teams.
The new bill, titled the “Fairness in Women’s Sports Act,” would bar anybody designated as male at birth from competing with female players. White explains the motivation behind the bill, explaining that allowing transgendered students to participate takes away a position for another girl. Martina explains that she isn’t wanting to exclude anybody and hopes to allow a path for disenfranchised female athletes to continue to compete at a competitive level.
Jason Chaffetz On New Book Exposing 'Disaster Liberalism'
Jason Chaffetz, former Congressman and current Fox News contributor, returns to the Dom Giordano Program to discuss his newly-released book, They Never Let a Crisis Go to Waste: The Truth About Disaster Liberalism. In the new book, Chaffetz looks at past disasters and takes an in-depth look at how Democrats have used crises and disasters to further push and sell their policies. First, Giordano and Chaffetz discuss the use of Hurricane Sandy as a vessel to push liberal policies, with Chaffetz explaining that only a miniscule amount of disaster aid actually went to recovery from said disaster. Then, Giordano and Chaffetz explain how this strategy has been employed in the face of more current crises, particularly those surrounding Coronavirus and George Floyd. Finally, Chaffetz explains how he’d suggest conservatives push back against this tendency from the Left.
