Dr. Val Arkoosh Wants To Point Fingers, But Refuses To Hold Her Own Accountable

Today, Dom Giordano led off the Dom Giordano Program on fire, discussing an interview this morning on Philadelphia’s Fox29 with Montgomery County Commissioner Valerie Arkoosh, in which she recapped the weekend call between county officials, state congressmen and senators, and state health officials. Arkoosh was quick to note the failures at the state level, to which Giordano takes umbrage with after spending the last year standing by the side of the state as Republicans in the region spoke out against the Wolf administration. Also, Giordano discusses a situation unfolding in Upper Darby, in which the Catholic holiday of ‘Good Friday’ has been renamed ‘Spring Holiday’ on official calendars.

After Funeral Shooting Last Week, Upper Darby Pastor Fears For Congregation’s Safety

Reverend Gregory Gilbert, head pastor of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, joins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss a misfortune that has fallen upon his parish. Up until a few years ago, a cemetery across the street would only do 5 or 6 burials per year for Quakers. A few years ago, the owners decided to open up funerals for traditional Muslim burials, which has sent the number of burials into the hundreds. Gilbert notes that since then, there have been many burials of shooting victims which have led to shootings just outside his church’s doors. Gilbert is calling for local Upper Darby police to step in and help to direct traffic and keep safety whenever the person being buried faced a violent death. Gilbert explains multiple times in which shootings occurred outside the church, with one going through the window of where a Kindergarten class is held. Gilbert explains what he’s done so far in trying to fix the issue, meeting both with the owner of the cemetery and local police, and tells what Upper Darby should do to remediate the problem.

Dr. Marty Still Stands By His Prediction Of Herd Immunity By April

Dr. Martin Makary, Professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and School of Public Health, and author of New York Times bestseller The Price We Pay, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program. A couple weeks back, Dr. Marty was on the show to discuss a piece he penned for the Wall Street Journal, in which he noted that the general public in the United States will reach herd immunity by April if we continue on the current route. Makary stands by this statement, and pontificates as to why the media has been unwilling to report positivity and hope during the pandemic. Dr. Makary brings examples and figures to the table supporting his stance, and explains why the public should be hopeful as we start to see a real light at the end of the tunnel.
