Krasner Holds A Presser But Gives No Answers
Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by discussing an opinion piece penned by the Inquirer’s Editorial Board, in which the group called for organizers to ignore South Philadelphia and Kensington residents and push forward for Safe Injection Sites after NYC Mayor Bill DeBlasio pushed through the edict on his way out. Giordano explains his issues with the article, noting how reckless it is, and asks listeners for locations throughout the city that the same ilk would not allow such a site. Then, Giordano and Producer Dan recap yesterday’s press conference held by District Attorney Larry Krasner addressing the heightened gun violence, in which he was asked whether or not tourists should be nervous for their safety while holiday shopping. In addition, Giordano talks about a transgendered swimmer who blew away the competition, and asks listeners for a notable duo related by blood.
Nationally Syndicated Jim Bohannon Joins The Dom Giordano Program
In today’s second hour, Dom welcomes good friend and nationally syndicated host Jim Bohannon to the Dom Giordano Program. First, Giordano and Bohannon discuss the anniversary of Pearl Harbor, highlighting a poll that notes a majority of Republicans blame the Japanese for Pearl Harbor, which both consider a ridiculous notion. Then, Giordano and Bohannon discuss the top stories of 2021, underlining many stories that came from the Coronavirus pandemic. In addition, both pontificate on the benefits and negatives of the current political rhetoric, and Jim Bohannon tells who he would award as his Person of the Year.
Then, Giordano circles back to local issues, bringing the topic of conversation back to a press conference held yesterday by District Attorney Larry Krasner. Dom’s producer Dan plays back clips centered around the issue of straw purchases, chronologically retelling how the rhetoric was framed throughout the presser. Then, Giordano takes callers, asking for notable duos related by blood, and debates whether the United States should appear at the upcoming Beijing Olympics.
Former Philly DA Seth Williams Comments On Heightened Philadelphia Crime
In the final hour of today’s show, Dom welcomes former Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams to the Program to discuss the heightened crime in and around Philadelphia. First, Giordano and Williams dissect yesterday’s weekly press conference held by current DA Krasner, in which he answered questions as to whether tourists should feel safe coming into the city. Then, Giordano and Williams discuss who’s to blame for the heightened violence, debating whether Coronavirus had as much an impact on the spike as the DA sells in his press conferences. Then, Williams offers up his own causalities that have led to the current situation, discussing a deep lack of accountability borne in a lack of prosecutions and radically progressive policies. After playing Dom’s Money Melody for the day, Williams returns for further discussion, turning to solutions being employed in other cities that have seen their crime rates decrease. Then, to round out the hour, Dom again asks listeners whether they think the United States should participate in the Beijing Olympics.
