Frank Farry On Upcoming Referendum Votes
Representative Frank Farry rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the referendum questions in the upcoming Pennsylvania election on May 18th. Farry explains to listeners that the GOP would like voters to vote four yes votes. Frank notes that this is a chance for voters to express their displeasure with the way the virus has been handled by the Wolf administration. Then, Giordano and Farry discuss the concept of redistricting as Pennsylvania loses a seat due to changes in the census, with Farry explaining how the redistricting will work, and what will happen if both parties cannot come to an agreement. Finally, Farry and Giordano discuss the referendum question asking voters if they favor making municipal fire departments eligible to apply for loans from an existing state loan program.
Radnor Parent Speaks Out Against Mascot Name Change
Matthew Marshall, graduate of Radnor High School Class of 1983 and parent of two children who spent their entire K-12 in the Radnor School District, joins the Dom Giordano Program to give a rundown of the situation in Radnor, as the School Board, without input from the community, decided to change the name of the Radnor Raiders. Marshall, a 55 year Radnor resident, explains why he objects to the name change, laying forth the history of the Raider name for Radnor. Marshall takes issue with the unilateral decision by the school board to rebrand the school at the worst recent time, in the face of a pandemic, injecting politics into an otherwise apolitical topic being the spirit and culture surrounding Radnor schools.
