Saturday Night Live Cowers To Cancel Culture

Today, Dom leads off the Dom Giordano Program by discussing a tweet that was picked up over the weekend, in which Giordano set his sights on SNL for their lack of political humor in the first episode back since President Biden’s Inauguration. Giordano notes that he was not upset, rather disappointed, that SNL has fallen so far that they’re now seemingly scared to satirize politics. Then, Giordano discusses the addition of Montgomery County attorney Bruce Castor to the team representing former President Donald Trump in the upcoming Senate impeachment trial, giving a quick rundown of exactly what to expect from the lawyer who’s been involved in Philadelphia headlines for years. Also, Giordano discusses the snowstorm that we’re midway through on this Monday, and asks listeners for their favorite products that are only available for a limited time.

Elizabeth Preate-Havey, head of the Montgomery County GOP, returns to the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the news that Bruce Castor, a prominent Montgomery County attorney, has joined President Trump’s legal defense team in the upcoming impeachment trial. Preate-Havey and Giordano reflect upon Castor’s career, telling of his time spent serving as the District Attorney of the county. Also, Preate-Havey provides an update on the situation involving mail-in ballots, as today is the final day for applications for mail-in ballots to be sent out.

Felix Salmon Returns For A GameStop Update

Felix Salmon, Chief Financial Correspondent of Axios and author of the weekly Axios capital newsletter, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program for an update on the situation on Wall Street involving retail investors as they invest in companies such as GameStop to counter short-selling by giant hedge funds. First, Salmon explains what exactly the game of tug-of-war means for the average listener of the 1210WPHT who may have money tied up in the stock market. Then, Salmon discusses the rise of news reports that the commodity of silver is becoming the “next GameStop,” even though Redditors on the website that started this all, r/WallStreetBets, are vocally against the idea of investing in any commodity, much less silver.

Young NY Republicans Re-Occupy Wall Street

Gavin Wax, President of the New York Young Republican Club, joins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss a protest he led yesterday to fight back against the shutdown of trading after the astronomical rise of the GameStop stock last week as retail investors teamed up to take on hedge fund managers. Wax explains the protest, which he labeled the ‘Re-Occupy Wall Street’ protest, explains why he decided what happened last week was something worth protesting. Also, Wax explains his disappointment in both Democrats and Republicans for their lack of comments on the situation unfolding in New York.
