Johnny Shotgun Takes A Polling Hit
Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by previewing today’s show, telling that he’s broadcasting live today from Wildwood. Dom tells about an upcoming guest in Robert Cahaly, the Chief Pollster of Trafalgar, which produced new polls that suggest that Dr. Mehmet Oz and opponent John Fetterman are closer than other polls suggest. Giordano uses this as a launching point to discuss the Senate race here in Philadelphia, lamenting about criticism directed toward anybody who questions the health of the Democratic candidate after Fetterman suffered a stroke. Then, after the break, Giordano discusses the differences between Republican frontrunners for a Presidential nomination, weighing the positives and negatives of both Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. After that, Giordano discusses a push in Pennsylvania to allow Independent voters to vote in party primaries, something Dom is vehemently against, arguing that one shouldn’t be allowed to both reap the benefits and also get a say in a party’s choice.
Nina, You Know Governmental Money Comes From The People, Right?
In today’s second hour, Giordano leads off the Dom Giordano Program by telling of a tweet sent by former congressional candidate and Bernie Sanders acolyte Nina Turner, who wrote, ‘student debt cancellation isn’t paid for by the taxpayers, the federal government is the lender.’ This sets Dom off, with him asking whether the former candidate is aware of where governmental money comes from. Then, Giordano tells a story about his time in Wildwood, telling of an incident between him and another beachgoer who was openly smoking marijuana on the boardwalk. Then, Giordano jumps back into a conversation centered on the Senate race between John Fetterman and Dr. Mehmet Oz, telling listeners that Fetterman vacations at the shore in Ocean City. Then, in Dan Time with Dom, producer Dan tells about his time spent at Port Richmond’s Pierogifest, and tells of a New York Times article that asks for readers to think twice about killing Chinese Lantern flies.
Trafalgar Group’s Robert Cahaly on Positive Polling Results for PA Republicans
In today’s third hour, Dom welcomes Robert Cahaly, Chief Pollster of the Trafalgar Group, back onto the Dom Giordano Program to discuss surprising results in Pennsylvania. After months of what looked to be becoming a landslide in favor of John Fetterman in his Senate race against Dr. Mehmet Oz, Cahaly reports that Oz has made up some ground, now sitting only about 5 points behind the Democratic front-runner. Also, Cahaly takes us inside the polling concerning the gubernatorial race, which has also exhibited a change in favor of the Republican candidate, with Doug Mastriano climbing within 4 percentage points. Cahaly takes us inside the polling, breaking down polling results based on demographic, and telling of a trend that he’s seeing with senior citizens.
Then, Giordano welcomes back John Siciliano, Executive Director of the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority, to discuss what’s coming up in the great shore destination. First, Dom asks John for some commentary on how this year’s season has turned out for the City, with John revealing some great news for the return of tourism as we claw our way back out of Coronavirus. Then, Giordano asks Siciliano about the ‘local summer,’ or the shoulder season of September and October, with Siciliano taking Dom and listeners through multiple upcoming events in the Wildwoods.
