The Importance of Authenticity in Elected Officials

Today, Dom Giordano led off the Dom Giordano Program with a theme, authenticity. Dom tells that he was having an off-air conversation with midday host Dawn Stensland about the value of authenticity in political candidates, telling why he believes gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano as genuine although he disagrees with some of his standpoints. Then, Giordano swings this over into a conversation of Mayor Jim Kenney’s authenticity, playing back clips from a press conference held today by city officials after the homicide rate eclipsed 300, which puts it on pace to match last year’s record homicide rate. Then, Giordano offers an update on the Pennsylvania gubernatorial race, telling of comments made by Philadelphia political activist Matthew Wolfe, who said that Mastriano has some things he needs to do better if he’d like to win the State. Then, Giordano spends some time lambasting bike lines, telling of a new initiative proposed by Republicans that will, in Dom’s opinion, make things safer for both bikers and drivers.

Philadelphia Republican Activist Matthew Wolfe on Pennsylvania’s Republican Candidates

In today’s second hour, Philadelphia Republican advocate Matthew Wolfe returns to the Dom Giordano Program after providing an interview to Politico about critiques that he has for the campaign of Pennsylvania Gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano. First, Dom asks for Wolfe to clarify his position on Mastriano, with Wolfe expressing his support for the candidate, especially against his Democratic opponent Josh Shapiro. That being said, though, Wolfe critiques Mastriano, calling for more ‘traditional fundraising’ by Mastriano, and telling what he feels the candidate needs to do to help ensure a victory in the upcoming midterm elections. Then, Giordano and Wolfe discuss Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz, with Wolfe revealing the positive reception that the candidate received at a recent Valley Forge event.

Then, Dom offers his list of what he believes to be the top 10 television shows of all-time, with a weird entry of Jeopardy onto the list. Dom and Dan debate the shows individually, with Dom offering a justification for some of his stranger choices. After that, producer Dan takes the wheel for some Dan Time with Dom, with Dan offering some Tweets critiquing Dom’s list, and offers up his own version of a top 10 list.

Schools To Start Enforcing Masking on Students Again

In today’s third hour, Dom welcomes Beth Ann Rosica, Executive Director of Back to School PA PAC, back onto the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the push by progressive school officials to bring masks back to public classrooms. First, Dom asks Rosica for more information, telling Giordano that she has done some research and discovered that masking is still required in Philadelphia schools, which is an underreported fact. Dom is shocked to hear this, with Rosica clarifying that students are not allowed to go to school if they refuse to wear a mask. Then, Giordano and Rosica discuss other schools throughout the States and whether the majority of schools are still enforcing mask-wearing, with Rosica telling what she’s heard from parents around the State.

Then, after playing Dom’s Money Melody, Dom offers up a couple different nation-wide stories, playing back a clip from Pete Buttigieg today that suggested that high gas prices are good for the sole fact that electric vehicle owners remain unaffected, encouraging people to buy electric. Then, Giordano loops back to local news, offering a review and recap of a press conference held today by Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, in which he remarkably noted that he’s never met with any victim’s families.
