Gregg Jarrett on Pending Impeachment Trial

Gregg Jarrett, top legal analyst for Fox News, returns to the Dom Giordano Program for a preview of the upcoming impeachment trial of President Trump, as he faces down his second Senate trial as Democrats try and impeach the now former President for his role in the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6th. Jarrett takes us through the legality of the situation, explaining whether or not it is constitutional to impeach a citizen, albeit a former President. Also, Jarrett gives his legal opinion on the situation, telling Giordano that the President never advocated violence, instead saying that Trump offered the contrary, a peaceful protest of the questions surrounding the vote. Finally, Jarrett gives an update on his writing, telling that there is no book in the pipeline, but encouraging listeners to pick up his most recent offering, Witch Hunt, as it ties closely to what we're still seeing play out on a national scale.

Kerry Benninghoff's New Bill Dedicated To Reigning In Governor's Power

Pennsylvania House Majority Leader, Representative Kerry Benninghoff, returns to the Dom Giordano Program to announce a constitutional amendment that he's working on. Benninghoff explains that he's launching the amendment for the second time to limit the governor's emergency powers. If passed for the second time, it will be on the primary ballot to be approved by the voters. This is great news for restaurant workers, business owners, and others negatively impacted by the executive overreach regarding COVID, offering Pennsylvanians a way to rein in the Governor's authority. Benninghoff lays out the timeline, and explains the process that the bill would have to go through before being enacted. Also, Benninghoff discusses the vaccine rollout, explaining that the state has a lack of supply which is causing a shortage not just in Philadelphia, but throughout the entire state.

Curt Schilling Belongs In The Hall of Fame

Dom Giordano discusses the upcoming announcement from the Baseball Writer's Association of America regarding their 2021 inductees into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Within the discussion, many writers have publicly spoken about one particular nominee, former Phillies, Diamondbacks, and Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling. In an opinion piece for Sportsnet, sportswriter Shi Davidi writes, "In the past I forced myself into an objective evaluation of his career, which baseball-wise is pretty compelling, and overlooked my discomfort with the things he was saying and the way he was using his platform. But I just couldn't do it again amid his ongoing demonization of political opponents as enemies, frequent insertion of three Ks in place of the 'C' in Democrats and his spreading of conspiracy theories, not when the consequences of such a poisoned discourse have surfaced." Dom takes umbrage with this, arguing that people with much worse histories than Schilling, including those of violence, have been welcomed into Hall of Fames, citing OJ Simpson as an example in the NFL Hall of Fame.
