Dom Giordano, WPHT host and former teacher, has dedicated much of his daily show toward parents who are taking it into their own hands to push back against school boards that have a negative impact on their children. This has culminated in a weekly podcast on education, Readin', Writin', and Reason, which has allowed wonderful relationships to develop between Giordano, educators, and parents throughout the country who are speaking out against overbearing school boards.
Every year on the Dom Giordano Program on Philadelphia's 1210WPHT, Dom awards his Local and National 'Person of the Year' to a regular guest for what they've done within the past year. This year, Dom told that he would announce a Readin' Writin' and Reason Person of the Year as well, a guest from our podcast who listeners deem the best guest from the last year. First, Dom announces who won the multi-faceted vote to win the first ever Readin' Writin' and Reason Person of the Year.
Then, Dom welcomes Tiffany Justice, co-founder of Moms for Liberty, onto the pod to discuss her group. Justice, a former school board member in Florida and mother of school-aged children, teamed up with another former board member, Tina Descovich, to create an organization dedicated to ‘fighting for the survival of America by unifying, educating and empowering parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of the Government.’ Justice tells about an upcoming convention that her group will hold in Philadelphia in late June. Also, Dom directly asks whether Justice’s group is actually ‘grassroots’ after claims by the New York Times that groups like hers are not, and offers her opinion on progressive counters to this conservative trend.
