WASHINGTON TWP. (WWJ) -- Authorities in Northern Macomb County are investigating a disturbing case of vandalism involving a political campaign sign.

WWJ's Charlie Langton reports the sign in question is promoting Audrey Brown, who is running as a Republican for the office of Washington Township Clerk.

"Vandals apparently decided it would be, well, maybe a fun joke to attach a sex town to Brown's face on one of her campaign signs," Langton said.

"The 2 foot by 6-foot sign was located in a local tourist area near 31 1/2 Mile and Van Dyke where families gather and children could easily see the sex toy on the sign."

Langton was on the scene, Friday morning, when the sign was taken down.

As for the culprit, no suspects have been named or described at this time.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office said it has launched an investigation.
