Maybe everything isn't trending towards Josh McDaniels being the next coach of the Eagles after all.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, owner Jeffrey Lurie needs to be convinced McDaniels is the guy.

"I also heard yesterday -- look, McDaniels ran the show in Denver, Howie Roseman has a major seat at the table in Philly. How do these two co-exist? My understanding is Roseman is fine with it. It's just a matter of talking the owner, Jeffrey Lurie, into it," Florio said Tuesday morning on PFT Live.

Reports say McDaniels met with Lurie and other members of the Eagles front office for close to 12 hours on Sunday.

The Patriots offensive coordinator has interviewed each of the last several years, but ultimately has remained in New England.

Besides McDaniels, Todd Bowles and Nick Sirianni reportedly have interviewed in recent days.
