(610 Sports) – Matt Nagy has been named as the Kansas City Chiefs' offensive coordinator for the second time.

The Chiefs announced that Nagy will take over for Eric Bieniemy who departed the team earlier in the week to take over as the new offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders. Nagy held the same position in 2016 and 2017 before being hired as the head coach of the Chicago Bears and was widely speculated to be named the team's OC once Bieniemy left for Washington.

Nagy was fired by Chicago following the 2021 season and returned to Kansas City prior to last season as the quarterbacks coach and senior assistant.

The return to offensive coordinator in Kansas City should position Nagy well to eventually return to the head coaching ranks, granted things continue to operate at a high level for the Chiefs' offense behind the arm of Patrick Mahomes.
