Chicago has acquired kicker Eddy Pineiro in a trade with Oakland, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Monday afternoon. The Bears traded a conditional seventh-round pick in 2021 to the Raiders that only conveys if Pineiro is on Chicago's active roster for five games, Schefter reported.
Pineiro, 23, played collegiately at Florida but went undrafted in 2018. He has yet to kick in an NFL game, with the Raiders placing him on injured reserve with a groin ailment last September.
Pineiro converted 38 of 43 field-goal attempts (88.4 percent) in college, including going 17-of-18 as a junior in 2018.
In their search to replace Cody Parkey, the Bears had eight kickers competing at minicamp over the weekend but parted ways with six of them. The two kickers that are on the Bears' roster in addition to Pineiro are Elliott Fry and Chris Blewitt.
