Quenneville was fired by the Blackhawks last November. He was then hired by the Panthers in early April.
Chicago opens the season facing Philadelphia in the NHL Global Series in Prague, Czech Republic on Oct. 4, as was previously announced. The Blackhawks then return home from that long road trip and immediately have a seven-game homestand, starting with a game against the Sharks at the United Center on Oct. 10.
