Blackhawks' Seabrook, de Haan To Undergo Surgery

(670 The Score) The Blackhawks have encountered more adversity in a trying season.

Defenseman Brent Seabrook and defenseman Calvin de Haan will each undergo season-ending surgery soon, the team announced Thursday. Seabrook will undergo three procedures. He'll have right shoulder surgery Friday, then is scheduled for right hip surgery in early January and left hip surgery in early February. de Haan will have right shoulder surgery Friday. 

Seabrook, 34, had four points (three goals, one assist) in 32 games. He hasn't played since Dec. 15. de Haan, 28, had six points (one goal, five assists) in 29 games. He hasn't played since Dec. 10.

Both players have been placed on long-term injured reserve.

In other injury news, the Blackhawks announced that forward Brandon Saad will miss the next three weeks with a right ankle injury. He has 19 points (11 goals, eight assists) in 36 games.

Entering Thursday, the Blackhawks are last in the Central Division, with 36 points in 38 games.
