(670 The Score) After missing the Bulls' past 51 games, forward Otto Porter Jr. is set to return.

Porter will play when the Bulls host the Mavericks at the United Center on Monday evening, he told reporters. Porter hasn't played since Nov. 6 because of a left foot injury, which was initially believed to be a mid-foot strain but was later found to also include a fracture.

"I'm going to give it a go tonight," Porter said after shootaround Monday.

Porter confirmed that he'll have a minutes restriction, though he didn't know yet what that threshold would be. He didn't know yet whether he'll be in the starting lineup, but he's just thankful to play again.

"I didn't know when it first happened that it was a broken bone or anything," Porter said. "Our doctors were doing everything to get answers and stuff. I finally found out what the problem was, and that kind of helped me mentally prepare to make a comeback."

Porter played in the Bulls' first nine games, averaging 11.2 points on 41.7 percent shooting in nine games. The Bulls acquired him in a trade with the Wizards in February 2019, and Porter has played in just 24 games for Chicago since then.

As the Bulls are set to get Porter back, they'll likely be missing star guard Zach LaVine, who has a strained left quad. LaVine is doubtful to play Monday, coach Jim Boylen said.
