(670 The Score) A candidate has emerged early in the Bulls' search for a new front office leader.
The Bulls have interest in Pacers general manager Chad Buchanan, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reported Thursday. Buchanan joined the Pacers in his current position in June 2017 after serving as an assistant general manager for the Hornets for two seasons. Prior to that, he worked for the Blazers for 10 years, mostly as their director of scouting.

In Indiana, Buchanan has helped guide the Pacers to success after they parted ways with star Paul George in a high-profile trade in 2017. Indiana won 48 games apiece in 2017-'18 and 2018-19 and sits in sixth place in the East right now at 32-23.

Sitting at 19-36 at the All-Star break in an underwhelming campaign, the Bulls plan to make front office changes this coming offseason. Executive vice president of basketball operations John Paxson is expected to retain plenty of power but recede into the background, while general manager Gar Forman isn't expected to return to his role, according to reports. Forman is expected to be offered a role in the scouting department, according to from the Sun-Times and NBC Sports Chicago.
