On Friday evening, Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant called the city of St. Louis "boring" during a panel discuss hosted by former Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster.
"Who would want to play in St. Louis?" Bryant said, according to the Post-Dispatch. "Boring. So boring. I always get asked, 'Where would you like to play? Where would you not like to play?' St. Louis is on the list of places I don't like to play. It is rough."
Those comments made their way back to Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina, who displayed his displeasure with them in an Instagram post Saturday.
"All stars, elite players and leaders of their teams do not speak bad about any city," Molina wrote. "There should be respect and you should play and compete with respect ... only stupid players and losers make comments like the ones made by bryant and dempster."
The Cardinals won 88 games to finish third in the division. They've made several big moves this winter, trading for six-time All-Star first baseman Paul Goldschmidt and signing high-leverage lefty reliever Andrew Miller.
