(670 The Score) The Bears landed Utah cornerback Jaylon Johnson with the No. 50 overall pick in the second round of the NFL Draft on Friday evening thanks in part to an unexpected drop related to his injury history.

Johnson had right shoulder surgery in March to repair a torn labrum that he played through last season. But he believes that shoulder will be healed and ready for the Bears' scheduled start of training camp in July.

"Not concerned at all," Johnson said on the McNeil & Parkins Show on Monday afternoon. "My surgery went really well. I'm doing really good. I'm going to be ready to go. I'm just training to be the best I can be when training camp comes.

"I'm not sure how close I am to 100 percent. I'm just making progress. But I will be 100 percent when need be."

While on the Mully & Haugh Show on Monday morning ,Utah coach Kyle Whittingham expressed his belief that Johnson's drop in this draft was solely based on health concerns.

"I don't think there's any doubt that had that history of shoulder surgeries not been there, he would've been in the top 15 in my opinion," Whittingham said.

"I think that's the kind of ability that he has."
