A two-time winner of the slam dunk contest, LaVine is vying be the first player in NBA history to win that contest and the 3-point shootout. He's shooting 37.6% on 3-pointers this season. The Hawks' Trae Young, the Blazers' Damian Lillard and the Kings' Buddy Hield are among the other players who will participate in the 3-point contest, according to reports.
The 24-year-old LaVine is averaging a career-best 24.9 points over 52 games. Despite that, he wasn't selected to the All-Star Game.
A day after the 3-point contest and dunk contest are conducted, the 69th NBA All-Star Game will be held on Feb. 16.
