Morrow, 35, signed a minor league deal with the Cubs in December after missing the past one-and-a-half seasons with elbow and arm injuries. He signed a two-year deal with the Cubs ahead of the 2018 season, then was dominant in posting a 1.47 ERA and converting 22 of 24 save chances in the first half before being sidelined by injuries for the rest of the campaign and all of 2019.
Other pitchers invited to big league camp were right-hander Jason Adam, right-hander Oscar De La Cruz, right-hander Dakota Mekkes, right-hander Caleb Simpson, right-hander Brock Stewart, right-hander Ben Taylor, left-hander Rex Brothers, left-hander Danny Hultzen, left-hander Tyler Olson, left-hander C.D. Pelham and left-hander Wyatt Short.
The Cubs invited four infielders to big league camp in Carlos Asuaje, Trent Giambrone, Corban Joseph and Hernán Pérez. Outfielders Noel Cuevas and Ian Miller also received invitations, as did catchers P.J. Higgins, Jhonny Pereda and Josh Phegley.
Pitchers and catchers will have their first workout next Wednesday. The first Cubs full-squad workout will take place Feb. 17.
