In a corresponding move, Chicago recalled righty reliever Ryan Tepera from its alternate camp in South Bend. Tepera will be available when the Cubs host the Brewers in a series finale at Wrigley Field on Sunday afternoon.
Wieck allowed two runs in one inning of work in his season debut Saturday. He had a 3.60 ERA in 14 appearances for the Cubs in 2019.
The Cubs signed Tepera in December. He has a 3.64 ERA in 216 appearances in his career.
