Cedeno is suffering from left wrist inflammation, an ailment that first affected him back in spring training and which has flared up again. Cedeno had thrown two scoreless innings across five relief appearances for the Cubs this season.

Wick, 26, has posted a 2.84 ERA in 13 relief appearances at Triple-A in 2019. He has also struck out 25 and walked five batters in 19 innings.
He made his MLB debut with the Padres in 2018, when he had a 6.48 ERA in 10 relief appearances. Chicago acquired him from San Diego in a trade last November.
