(670 The Score) One of the best relievers in Cubs history has moved on.

Pedro Strop has agreed to a deal with the Reds, baseball journalist Hector Gomez reported Thursday. It's a one-year deal worth $1.825 million that can increase to $3.5 million with bonuses, Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic reported.

That news brings Strop's impressive Cubs tenure to a close.

Strop posted a 2.90 ERA across seven seasons with Chicago, which acquired him in a trade with Baltimore in July 2013. Strop was a steady rock year in and year out for the Cubs and played a key role in on their championship team in 2016. Strop made at least 54 appearances and posted a 2.91 ERA or better every season from 2014-'18 for the Cubs.

Strop's performance took a downturn in 2019, when he registered a 4.97 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 50 appearances.

Limited by self-imposed budget limitations, the Cubs never made a serious run at Strop in free agency this winter.
