(670 The Score) Legalized sports betting is one step closer to reality in the state after the Illinois House passed SB 690 on Saturday evening.
Needing 71 votes, it passed by an 87-27 measure. It will move to the Senate on Sunday, when it will need a three-fifths majority to pass. After much discussion and amendments to the bill led to it passing the House, the expectation is it will be approved by the Senate. Gov. J.B. Pritzker has publicly expressed his support and plans to sign the bill.
