(670 The Score) In the aftermath of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin being convicted Tuesday of murdering George Floyd in May 2020, some Chicago athletes shared their reactions.

"It's definitely a positive moving forward," White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson said after his team’s win at Cleveland, according to NBC Sports Chicago. "That's pretty much all I can say about it. I was happy with the decision. Now we can keep moving, keep trying to find that positive lane."

Earlier in the afternoon after the guilty verdict was revealed, Anderson had shared a tweet.

Bears receiver Allen Robinson also reacted on Twitter when the jury's decision was announced Tuesday.

Floyd, a 46-year-old Black man, died after Chauvin forcefully pressed his knee onto Floyd's neck for around nine minutes last May 25, according to authorities and video. Chauvin was found guilty of second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

The Bulls released a statement late Tuesday.

"Today's guilty verdict in the murder of George Floyd was a step in the fight against systemic racism, but we know much work needs to be done," the organization's statement said. "The Chicago Bulls organization reaffirms our commitment to bring about real change with equity and justice for everyone."

Bulls wing Troy Brown Jr. chimed in on Twitter as well.
